Resistance Weld Studs, All ASME Grades of Steel (IFI 148)
Resistance or Projection Weld Studs can come in a variety of shapes depending on the application, but the common factor is that the welding process is accomplished by passing a current through the weld stud into the base material. The current heats the stud and base, and usually pressure is applied. Many of these types of studs have small projections on the underside of the stud to concentrate the current.
