C-Clips
C-Clips, or Type-C Retaining Rings, are external retaining rings whose purpose is to stop the movement of an assembly along a shaft. They are installed radially into a machined groove in the shaft, usually just by pressing, so installation does not require special equipment. Their name comes from the fact that the appearance of the E-Clip resembles the written letter "C".
