Cage Nuts

Cage Nuts or Caged Nuts consists of a nut in a spring steel cage which wraps around the nut. The cage has two wings that when compressed allow the cage to be inserted into holes, for example, in the mounting rails of equipment racks and so locate the nut to make tightening easier in difficult to access places. Other simpler types of Nut Retainers are J-Type Nut Retainers and U-Type Nut Retainers. These types of Nut Retainers slide across the edge of sheet metal, the Nut attached the the clip being placed over a pre-drilled hole in the sheet metal.
