A hand reamer is a precision cutting tool designed to manually enlarge and finish pre-existing holes to an exact diameter with a smooth surface finish. Made from hardened tool steel, a typical hand reamer features a cylindrical shaft with multiple straight or helical flutes (cutting edges) arranged around its circumference. One end of the shaft is usually machined into a square to fit a tap wrench or T-handle, allowing for controlled manual rotation during use
