DIN 6799 Type E Retaining Ring for shafts, E-Clip, Circlip by Material, Finish and Size
E-Clips, or Type E Retaining Rings, are external retaining rings whose purpose is to stop the movement of an assembly along a shaft. They are installed radially into a machined groove in the shaft, usually just by pressing, so installation does not require special equipment. Their name comes from the fact that the appearance of the E-Clip resembles the written letter "E".
