DIN 471 External Type SH Retaining Ring by Material, Finish and Size
Shaft Rings, or Type SH Retaining Rings are thin, circular rings that installed axially into a machined groove in a shaft to stop the movement of an assembly along that shaft. That assembly could be a gear or a wheel. Assembly requires the use of needle nose pliers which grip small locating holes to expand the shaft ring so it can be slid along the shaft before being released ito the groove.
